Former India cricket captain MS Dhoni has filed a criminal case against his ex-business partners Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited, accusing them of cheating him of over Rs 15 crore. The legal action, filed in a Ranchi court, revolves around an agreement made in 2017 to establish a global cricket academy.
The complaint alleges that Diwakar, a partner in Aarka Sports, failed to fulfill the agreed-upon conditions outlined in the contract. Aarka Sports failed to honour the terms that obligated them to pay a franchise fee and share profits.
Despite making multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the parties consistently disregarded the specified terms in the agreement. In response, on August 15th, 2021, MSD revoked the authority letter granted to Aarka Sports and issued several legal notices, all of which proved futile.
Dayanand Singh, representing MS Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, declared that Aarka Sports deceived and cheated them, causing a financial loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.
Additionally, Simant Lohani, a friend of Dhoni, filed a complaint alleging threats and abuse by Mihir Diwakar after taking legal action against Aarka Sports.
MS Dhoni, who recently returned from celebrating the New Year in Dubai, has been actively pursuing legal recourse against his former business partners. The cricket legend’s efforts to establish a cricket academy were hindered by the alleged fraudulent actions of Aarka Sports.
